Founded by Raymond and Carolyn Chauvin, Hope Grows operates several community programs on the grounds of Parkmont Farm. The group's programming focuses on promoting personal growth while helping individuals develop meaningful relationships with animals and the environment.
Each summer, youth ages 8 to 16 take part in Hope Grows summer camps, in which participants learn basic horse-riding skills. The camps also teach campers about the basics of general horse grooming and care. Summers at Hope Grows also feature the Hope It Grows Garden, which has been growing various crops and flowers for the community for seven seasons.
Hope Grows' year-round activities include riding lessons for riders ages five and up. In addition, the organization offers equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) in partnership with clinical mental health counselors. The EAP program provides individualized non-traditional experiential therapy sessions for individuals eight and older who have been diagnosed with a mental health condition.
